Election Information Page. This section is currently under
construction, and will feature news and information from the
Red Oak Independent School District and the Award Winning
Hawk Eye News Team concerning the details of the upcoming
2007 Bond Election.
Each month until May 2007, Hawk Eye News will post video
news reports featuring an in-depth look at the details
included in the bond proposal. In addition, Allen J. Oliver
Production is producing a comprehensive informational video
covering all the details included in the Bond Election.

Hawk
Eye News Reporter, Kathryn Martinez, brings us this report
on how rapid the City of Red Oak and the Red Oak ISD is
growing. This is the first segment in a series of reports
that will be produced from February through May 2007 that
will breakdown and exam the potential upcoming 2007 Red Oak
ISD Bond Election. Red Oak will have one of the highest
increases in population in the cities history and many more
businesses are coming to town. Next month we will have Part
1 of our in depth coverage of this historical election.
For

with continuing coverage of the 2007 Red Oak ISD Bond
Election. The Red Oak Independent School District Board of
Trustees has called a bond election to be held May 12, 2007.
The components of the bond program will be as follows:
New High School - $72,582,626
New Elementary School - $15,685,064
District Maintenance/Renovation Projects - $6,723,310
Total Package - $95,000,000

preventative maintenance needs of all the campuses. This

of her final report before Election Day. Last month we
discussed the two major components of the $95 million dollar
package, the new Shields Elementary School and the New Red
Oak High School. This month we discuss the third and final
component, District Maintenance and Renovation Projects this
area of the bond proposal will address the immediate and
preventative maintenance needs of all the campuses

Red Oak ISD in
partnership with Allen J. Oliver Productions brings you this
in-depth 5-part series outlining the details of the 2007 Red
Oak ISD Bond Election.
The
Red Oak ISD has a proud history of achievement in working
for educational excellence and in teaching skills for life
long success. Embracing progress and maintaining tradition,
Red Oak ISD continues to support superior educational
opportunities for each and every student.
In
this proposal a new first class replacement high school will
be constructed on a new site with an initial capacity of
2,400 students and a core function capacity with library,
kitchen and a cafeteria of 2,800 for future expansion. This
New Red Oak High School would plan to open in August of
2010.
A
new replacement elementary school will be constructed on a
new site with a capacity of 650 students. This school will
plan to open in August of 2008. Shields Elementary is
currently over capacity and is the oldest elementary school
in Red Oak ISD
Addressing
the immediate and preventative maintenance needs of all the
campuses. Much-needed repairs will be completed quickly. It
is intended that this program be the first phase of a
pro-active program for future bonds to address all of the
deferred maintenance needs of Red Oak ISD
Taxpayer
information and projections including tables reflecting the
estimated school tax bill increase for different homeowners,
with mandatory $15,000 homestead exemptions included, after
selling all of the $95,000,000 bonds over the next 2 years.

After
the overwhelming support of the 2007 bond package in the
election held in May the Red Oak ISD Administration and
board of trustees have been hard at work planning and laying
out the plans for the facility upgrades and new facilities
that will be built over the next few years. Our very own
senior lead reporter Kathryn Martinez became an important
part of the communication chain as she brought us monthly
reports last year leading up to the election, now Kathryn
will keep us posted each month on the progress of the bond
projects. For more on all the projects under way she talks
to Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Support Mr.
Russ Schupmann who has been very instrumental in the
successful bond package and who will be working along side
Mr. Niven on the implementation of the projects.

While
Halloween is full of ghost and goblins and people running
around trying to scare you all the time, one thing that is
not scary for student in Red Oak ISD is the prospect of one
day walking the brand new halls of the new Shields
Elementary and the new Red Oak High School. Learn more in
this report.
With
the cool weather in the air a freshness seems to hit us
first thing in the morning, this freshness of a new season
is also in the air at the Central Administration Office as
the Administrative Team is hard at work getting ready for
new construction on the new Shields Elementary and Red Oak
High School. We have been hearing from Mr. Schupmann that
construction should be starting very soon. Hawk Eye News

This
month as we approach Christmas we join Mr. Schupmann to see
what’s new in the bond progress. Thanks to all the school
board and administration for keeping us up to date on the
bond progress, it has been busy the last few months and we
are really excited that we will be your first line of news
and information from the progress that will be made in 2008.

exciting around Red Oak ISD with the bond progress in full
swing. This month Mr. Schupmann joins Hawk Eye News
Reporter, Kathryn Martinez from the new Red Oak High School
location with news and information on construction plans.
Mr. Schupmann shows viewers what the new high school will
potentially look like when complete through a new fly by
render provided by architects.

time to check in with senior reporter Kathryn Martinez who
will bring us up to date on the bond progress. This month,
Mr. John Humphrey fills in for Mr. Schupmann to give us the
latest in part 7 of the Hawk Eye News Bond Progress series.
