Athletic Zone Alert - Lady Hawks Volleyball and Cross Country Updates!

SPORTS NEWS:

Volleyball: Our Lady HAWKS won the Consolation Championship at the Coppell Tournament over the weekend! The Lady HAWKS defeated Dumas and Keller on Saturday to secure the title. Our volleyball team is currently 21-6 for the season. Five of those losses are against 5A schools. We play at home this evening against Mesquite High School. The 9th and JV teams play at 5:30 and the Varsity plays at 6:30. Please come out and cheer Our Lady HAWKS to victory.

Cross Country: This past weekend the boys cross country team participated in the prestigious Greenhill Relay. The varsity team finished 25th out of 50 of the top 4A & 5A teams in the state. Leon Chavez led the varsity with a time of 8:32. The JV finished 19th out of over 60 teams. Cody Roland led the Hawks with a time of 9:15. Congratulations on a good start to the season & good luck this Friday at the Waco Midway meet.

Hawk Eye News in Action at SMU - Red Oak vs. Highland Park - TOTAL COVERAGE!!!!!!!!

The Hawk Eye News team, producer Allen J. Oliver along with professional photographers Steve Patterson, Gary Puckett and Scott Krywalski offer these exciting new photos of Red Oak vs. Highland Park at the Tom Landry Classic match up held at SMU Stadium on August 30, 2008.

The Hawks coming off a great season in 2007 made the decision to fear no one as they took on the # 1 ranked Highland Park Scots in the prestigious Tom Landry Classic at SMU. The Scots scored first but the Hawks had an answer as Quarterback Grady Latimer hit wide receiver Cody Thompson for an outstanding 27 yard touchdown pass and with a Justin Mendoza extra points the Hawks noted the score at 7-7. Highland Park would score again before the end of the first quarter and led 13-7 at the end of one.

The second quarter was all HP as they outscored the Hawks 18-7 to take a 31-14 lead. The highlight in the second quarter for the Hawks as an awesome 85 yard touchdown run by Senior Seth Rushing who blew threw the line and outran the Scots to the end zone.

Red Oak Varsity Football Reserved Season Tickets Go On Sale!
Red Oak Football Season Tickets will go on sale Thursday, August 14, from 4:00 � 7:00 pm for members of the All Sports, Band, Cheer, or Drill Team Booster Clubs. We will be set up at the football stadium so Booster members will have an opportunity to select the seat(s) they wish to purchase before they go on sale to the general public. Ticket prices are $35 per season ticket for Booster Club members and $40 for nonmembers. Reserved tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 15. Reserved tickets may be purchased in the front office of Red Oak High School. There are only 1,235 season tickets available so get your tickets early to ensure you will have a great seat to watch �The HAWKS� in their quest for the playoffs in 2008.

Tickets for the Tom Landry Classic Go On Sale!
Tickets for the Tom Landry Classic, August 30, at SMU pitting the Red Oak Hawks against the Highland Park Scots, go on sale Monday, August 11, 2008. Ticket prices are $8 for Adults and $6 for students. Tickets may be purchased in the front office of Red Oak High School. A ticket is good for admission to the 4:30 game between Southlake Carroll and Plano West as well as the 7:30 game between Red Oak and Highland Park. All tickets are $10 at the gate.
