It is the hope of the Red Oak ISD Safe
School Committee and the Red Oak ISD Police Department that
this video will help all staff members become more informed
on the districts plan. We urge you to read the manual as
soon as possible and become familiar with your roles in a
crisis situation. If you have questions about anything in
this video or anything in the district safe school plan
please contact the office of the Chief of Police for Red Oak
ISD at 469-437-6837 or you can email, police@redoakisd.org.
Our plan is in compliance with Texas State Senate Bill 11 as
well as other State and Federal Guidelines. The hard work of
many staff and community members of the Red Oak ISD have
developed this plan. The plan has been fully supported by
the Office of the Superintendent and Red Oak ISD School
Board. Again if you would like more information contact the
Red Oak ISD Police Department and thank you for helping make
Red Oak ISD a safe place to learn and work!

While
many of you may be familiar with our department new
staff members may not even know our district has a fully
certified police agency that cares for the law
enforcement needs of all Red Oak ISD properties. While
we offer a variety of police services to the district
one of our main focuses has always been school safety
and planning. After many years of development and hard
work by many inside this district and out, our
department in cooperation with Allen J. Oliver
productions would like to share this video with you to
train you on the board approved crisis management and
response plan of the Red Oak ISD. Thank you for watching
and we hope this video will help you help us to make Red
Oak ISD a safer place to learn and work.
The
district has worked hard on the major components of the
Safe School Plan, which is the district Emergency
Operations Plan. The plan outlines specific duties that
must be carried out by trained staff members in a crisis
situation. The district plan calls for total cooperation
by campus and district team members who work together in
a major crisis situation.
What
is a Buddy Teacher? Each campus is assigned a “Campus
Coordinator” to oversee day to day planning of crisis
management on your campus. The Campus Coordinator will
assign buddy teachers. These are teachers who care for
each other’s classrooms in cases where their buddy is a
crisis response team member, or a district substitute
teacher is teaching their buddies’ classroom.
Response
teams 1-4 are in place at campus and district levels.
Teams 5 - Counseling Services, and Team 6 – Community
Volunteers, along with Evacuation & Public Information
Teams, are District level teams. These team members
carry out specific duties.
Another
crisis team that assists in major crisis situations is
the Evacuation Team. In the Red Oak ISD Plan, pre-set
locations have been determined as “evacuation centers”
for students who must be evacuated from their campus for
their safety. In this event, ROISD Transportation will
transport students to one of the Evacuation Centers.
