6th Annual Hawk Eye News Awards Banquet Held!!!
July 1st, 2008

At the end of each season of Hawk Eye News, Allen J. Oliver Productions and Project Success Drug Education host the Hawk Eye News Awards Banquet, honoring the outstanding students who made up the news team of Hawk Eye News. The show has been given very high marks by the administration, staff, and students across the district. The banquet was the idea of Mr. & Mrs. Oliver, who reward the students with beautiful framed certificates, and for the Seniors and desk anchors, a very special Trophy. Each year, the cast and crew are blown away with the awards, and the great video memories they are given, as Mr. & Mrs. Oliver hand each a full set of all 10 episodes of the show, along with a special video of everything shown at the banquet. Hawk Eye News, with the support of local businesses, and the hard work of the Project Success Parents Committee, is proud to hold this event, honoring each student for their commitment and “Leadership You Can Depend On!”

Watch the photos slideshow from the event. Special Thanks to Steve Patterson at Moving Pictures.

Historical Moment for ROHS!
July 1st, 2008

A place where the sound of crowds cheering on the Hawks and Lady Hawks Volleyball and Basketball teams could be heard is no longer. Demolition crews began tearing down the old ROHS Gynasium at the end of June, after the facility was deamed unsafe for occupation. The facility was just too worn out to renovate. It has always been the plan to see it go away, and now history unfolds as the structure is isassembled to make room for more progress on what will become the new ROJH, once the new ROHS Campus is complete.

See photos of the destruction!

New Community Band!
June 19th, 2008

Richard Thomas is getting something off the ground that’s been a dream/goal of his for some time: a Community Band! While the DFW metroplex actually has one of the highest numbers of community bands per capita in the US, our area (I-35 corridor south of Dallas/north Ellis Co) pretty much has nothing. It is one of our core values for the band program here at ROHS that we instill a desire for life-long music making in our students.
